CES 2013 Wrap-up: the launch of VYZAR

Mobility Awards

I have just returned from CES 2013 where we launched our VYZAR Augmented Reality technology! For those of you who are not familiar, CES is the Consumer Electronics Show and is the biggest in the world with over 150,000 attendees and a massive amount of floor space (1.9 million sq ft). You exhibit at CES to show off your awesome new product and that is exactly what we did by choosing to launch our new VYZAR Augmented Reality technology. VYZAR is an engine for Apple and Android to combine the digital with real life by overlaying 2D, 3D, and animated virtual data onto the live camera feed of a mobile device. It can be licensed to developers (with a fully documented SDK), built into custom apps, and we build our own apps using VYZAR technology including SightSpace 3D (and Free-D), Circulizar Gifts, and Virtual Holidays. VYZAR definitely made a splash as 20,000 products were launched at CES and VYZAR was one of 12 featured in the official CES press release.

SightSpace Free-D Mobile App for SketchUp Is Here!

Have you ever wanted to try out our SightSpace 3D app but were not ready for the commitment? We have a solution with our release of SightSpace Free-D, a free download of our popular SightSpace 3D model viewer with Augmented Reality capabilities for iPads and iPhones. Place up to 3 models on Free-D for completely free to experience our custom viewer (there is no limit on model size or polygons. SightSpace will use available memory to the max). Models can be transferred directly to the Apple device through iTunes or downloaded from Dropbox and email. All of the capabilities of 3D are available as in-app purchases so you can customize your desired features, including a purchase for loading more models.

SketchUp Basecamp 2012: we brought cloud, mobile, and augmented reality

Welcome to Part 2 of my SketchUp Basecamp round-up. In Part 1, I summarized Basecamp as a whole and the announcements. Now I am going to personalize it to us, our friends at Shaderlight, and some of the great people we got to meet. SketchUcation unofficially kicked of Basecamp on Sunday night by having a mixer and we met many attendees.

Shaderlight, presented their interactive rendering plugin during a ‘Rendering Round-up” on Day 1 and in an unconference on Day 2. They were very well received and many SketchUp users got to see our Shaderlight Cloud Rendering in action. They were excited to be able to send complex animations to the cloud and to submit unlimited, simultaneous renders. To make sure Shaderlight users are never without their renders, we introduced the Shaderlight Cloud Viewer for Android devices. Don’t worry Apple users, your app is coming soon.

SketchUp Basecamp 2012: we’ll be there!

basecamp

SketchUp Basecamp starts in Boulder, CO on Monday, October 15th. What is it? It is a get-together for 250 people who are enthusiastic users and are planning on spending 3 days on all things SketchUp. SketchUp team members and attendees will present sessions – and this includes us! On Tuesday at 2pm, we will be presenting on Augmented Reality in SketchUp and showcasing our mobile application, SightSpace 3D for Apple and Android. Our partner, ArtVPS, will be demonstrating the interactive Shaderlight rendering plug-in, including the capability to render on the cloud on both Monday and Tuesday. Additionally, we will both be available at vendor tables on Tuesday and Wednesday to demonstrate mobile, Augmented Reality, and rendering on the cloud.

I will post a summary of Basecamp in the upcoming weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions, email us at info@LimitlessComputing.com, check out our media advisory for Basecamp, or contact our press rep Marilyn Kroner.

SightSpace v1.1 Update for Android now Available

I am pleased to announce the SightSpace 3D v1.1 update for Android devices is now available on Google Play. If you are not familiar with SightSpace, it views SketchUp (and other KMZ format files) on Apple and Android devices in Augmented Reality by superimposing the digital designs in the real-world in real-time, enabling you to walk through the model by simply moving your device. Additional features include stereoscopic red/cyan 3D, annotate 3D models, bookmark favorite views, take screenshots, share notes and photos, and more.

6Sight Future of Imaging Conference: we’ll be there in NYC!

Our very own Jeffrey Franklin will be part of the 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference next week in New York City. Jeff will participate in a panel session focusing on Intelligent Imaging and Augmented Reality on Tuesday, June 26th at 2:25pm in the Metropolitan Pavilion. The panel, including experts from MIT and Xerox, will discuss Augmented Reality, facial recognition, privacy issues, and more.

We are very pleased that we were invited and it is likely due to our background in Augmented Reality. This is demonstrated in our custom VYZAR 3D Augmented Reality that powers our SightSpace 3D mobile application for Apple and Android. If you are not familiar with SightSpace, it views SketchUp files in Augmented Reality by superimposing the digital designs in the real-world in real-time, enabling you to walk through the model by simply moving your device. Additional features include stereoscopic red/cyan 3D, annotate 3D models, bookmark favorite views, take screenshots, share notes and photos, and more.

AIA 2012 Recap: Shaderlight and Limitless Join Forces

During the AIA 2012 expo in Washington, DC, that took place in mid-May, we were demonstrating our new Shaderlight Cloud Rendering plug-in for SketchUp and new features for SightSpace 3D, our mobile viewer with Augmented Reality for SketchUp. In our booth we joined up with the good people of Shaderlight to show off Shaderlight Cloud Rendering (launching June 2012) which is the first, and only, SketchUp rendering plug-in to use the power of fast computers on the cloud to deliver high quality photorealistic renderings fast without tying up your desktop.
