SketchUp Basecamp 2012: we’ll be there!

basecamp

SketchUp Basecamp starts in Boulder, CO on Monday, October 15th. What is it? It is a get-together for 250 people who are enthusiastic users and are planning on spending 3 days on all things SketchUp. SketchUp team members and attendees will present sessions – and this includes us! On Tuesday at 2pm, we will be presenting on Augmented Reality in SketchUp and showcasing our mobile application, SightSpace 3D for Apple and Android. Our partner, ArtVPS, will be demonstrating the interactive Shaderlight rendering plug-in, including the capability to render on the cloud on both Monday and Tuesday. Additionally, we will both be available at vendor tables on Tuesday and Wednesday to demonstrate mobile, Augmented Reality, and rendering on the cloud.

I will post a summary of Basecamp in the upcoming weeks. In the meantime, if you have any questions, email us at info@LimitlessComputing.com, check out our media advisory for Basecamp, or contact our press rep Marilyn Kroner.

6Sight 2012: Imaging and Augmented Reality

Our own Jeff Franklin joined analysts, innovators, and experts in imaging and Augmented Reality in New York City for the 6Sight Conference. Jeff was part of a panel that discussed Augmented Reality and intelligent imaging – being able to determine various types of information from an image such as object and facial recognition – and image context. Image context includes being at a dinner party and photos from the party are searchable with information related to the dinner party. The purpose of intelligent imaging is that people take a large quantity of pictures, so information is attached to the images for quick retrieval when searched. This is a fast moving field and full of emerging technology, so expect to hear more! What were hot topics at the conference? They included mobile cameras improving in quality, being able to share pictures easier (think a “connected camera”), intelligent imaging, and, of course, augmented reality.

6Sight Future of Imaging Conference: we’ll be there in NYC!

Our very own Jeffrey Franklin will be part of the 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference next week in New York City. Jeff will participate in a panel session focusing on Intelligent Imaging and Augmented Reality on Tuesday, June 26th at 2:25pm in the Metropolitan Pavilion. The panel, including experts from MIT and Xerox, will discuss Augmented Reality, facial recognition, privacy issues, and more.

We are very pleased that we were invited and it is likely due to our background in Augmented Reality. This is demonstrated in our custom VYZAR 3D Augmented Reality that powers our SightSpace 3D mobile application for Apple and Android. If you are not familiar with SightSpace, it views SketchUp files in Augmented Reality by superimposing the digital designs in the real-world in real-time, enabling you to walk through the model by simply moving your device. Additional features include stereoscopic red/cyan 3D, annotate 3D models, bookmark favorite views, take screenshots, share notes and photos, and more.

AIA 2012 Recap: Shaderlight and Limitless Join Forces

During the AIA 2012 expo in Washington, DC, that took place in mid-May, we were demonstrating our new Shaderlight Cloud Rendering plug-in for SketchUp and new features for SightSpace 3D, our mobile viewer with Augmented Reality for SketchUp. In our booth we joined up with the good people of Shaderlight to show off Shaderlight Cloud Rendering (launching June 2012) which is the first, and only, SketchUp rendering plug-in to use the power of fast computers on the cloud to deliver high quality photorealistic renderings fast without tying up your desktop.

SightSpace 3D New Features Sneak Peek at AIA 2012

Dog House SKP

Why is this image so special? Other than the adorable puppy?

We are previewing new features for our SightSpace 3D mobile application for Google SketchUp at the American Institute of Architects convention in Washington, DC this week (May 17-19) in Booth #1908. The dog house included in this post is a clue to one of our features because it is very special. If you are not familiar with SightSpace, it views Google SketchUp files on Apple and Android devices in Augmented Reality by superimposing the digital designs in the real-world in real-time, enabling you to walk through the model by simply moving your device. Additional features include stereoscopic red/cyan 3D, annotate 3D models, bookmark favorite views, take screenshots, share notes and photos, and more.
