Satellites and Survey: an introduction to remote sensing
Love Google Earth? Ever looked at your house? How about looking for Atlantis or some other elusive feature? Not having an understanding of how satellite imagery works results in this article on the Huffington Post about “mysterious” Google Earth images (http://huff.to/bkbbQM) that are easily explainable as natural features, shadows, and errors in the data (except for the huge pink bunny! That is just weird.) I am going to introduce the types of data available on Google Earth, cover some pros and cons, and suggest where you can find more imagery to indulge your budding love.
